Schiphol Airport Library, Amsterdam the first permanent airport library in the world opened recently to cater for travellers.

..USA
The Geek the Library campaign is being rolled out across all libraries in the US,after trials in five states. The project is to community based public awareness campaign aimed at spreading the word about the vital and growing role of your public library It is run by OCLC with funding from the Gates Foundation. Puke Arike Museum,Library & Visitor Infomation Centre , New Plymouth, New Zealand has won multiple awards for design, delivery, technology, innovation and architecture.
