The Geek the Library campaign is being rolled out across all libraries in the US,after trials in five states. The project is to community based public awareness campaign aimed at spreading the word about the vital and growing role of your public library It is run by OCLC with funding from the Gates Foundation. Puke Arike Museum,Library & Visitor Infomation Centre , New Plymouth, New Zealand has won multiple awards for design, delivery, technology, innovation and architecture.
This Week in Libraries interviews staff from the centre.

The Museums, Libraries & Archives Council (MLA) and the National Institute of Adult Continuing Education (NIACE) have published this paper which outlines how museums, libraries and archives have widened participation in recent years and how they have brought people together and bridged gaps between generations.

Libraries for Life for Londoners is an alliance of user groups and supporters formed in response to severe threats to public libraries in London . They have published a charter for public libraries to spearhead their campaign . Something to think about ?

If you have checked Libraries Australia for resources in Australian libraries and not able to find what you are looking for it might be worth checking these library networks now operating in Sydney.

Ashfield, Burwood, Botany Bay, Kogarah, Strathfield and Marrickville libraries have formed a partnership to provide access to each others collections via their library catalogues.Going to any of their catalogues and selecting ALL will give you access to all their collections.

Shorelink is another consortium of 5 public libraries on the lower north shore of Sydney, involving Lane Cove, Manly, Mosman, North Sydney and Willoughby which has a shared catalogue eg Shorelink Online catalogue
